Top Pool Design Trends for 2022

As architects continue to push the boundaries of traditional homes, our backyards are starting to see more contemporary designs, too. As a pool designer in Texas, this is really exciting because I am pretty tired of seeing the same kidney bean pools with some boulders slapped on the end. If you look at aerial photos of many neighborhoods in the DFW area, you will find an absurd amount of similarly shaped freeform pools.

While there is nothing wrong with the tried and tested kidney bean…it’s just completed played out at this point. Clients are more sophisticated today than ever before and the rise of social media has allowed brands from around the world, especially California, Arizona, and Florida, to showcase extremely modern design, features, and new possibilities for our yards.
